We had a great time reuniting with friends this week and hearing about everyone’s Christmas break. Celebrations continued with two birthdays and 3 Kings day!
In Math we continued to look at patterns and creating interesting patterns with shapes and colors. We also talked about addition and subtraction problems (sumas and restas). Help your child think of math problems at home. For example, if you have 5 crackers and you eat 1 how many are left? (5-1=4)
In Language Arts we reviewed all of our sight words and look at syllables that begin with “b.” Remember that it is our goal to have each child read their take home book at least 3 times over the weekend.
In Bible we finished up talking about the Christmas story. We talked about the arrival of the 3 Kings and King Herod’s anger when he heard that a new king had been born. On Friday we celebrated 3 Kings’ day with a traditional “Rosca de los reyes.” A sweet bread.
A reminder: If you have not already turned in your Spanish Immersion survey, please do so soon. This helps the school prepare for the coming year. Thank you!
A Peek at our Week!
Our new sight words will be “vente” and “conmigo.” We will talk about what some animals do in the winter.
